Full Circle
Wow what a holiday, the kind that makes you realize how true the simple stuff is, how you should cherish the people closest to you. My daughter Shpresa (which means Hope in albanian)was truly tested these past few days. I first have to say how much I admire her, She is such a loving strong woman. She's 21 but so much farther than I ever was at her age, I smile just thinking about it.
Her strength has been tried these last few days, earlier Monday morning her friend from Georgia, Ashley was driving to Florida with her 2 children, Hannah 10 months and Skylar 3 years. They were In Fort Pierce, it was 2:30 am, there was a accident in front of them, it was unavoidable. Hannah bless her, wasn't hurt, but poor Ashley and Skylar didn't fair as well. Skylar was trauma hawked to a hospital here in West Palm Beach. Ashley was taken to a local Hospital in Fort Pierce. Ashley had bruised her heart and is in ICU.
Skylar Im told was on life support her little body unable to hold on. She was brain dead. My daughter and everyone that knew these people were heart broken. My daughter kept saying I understand when old people die I dont understand this. Sometimes we don't ever understand it, Shoot it was hard on me and that was just from seeing my daughter, I dont even want to imagine the effect this had on Ashley, her husband and their families.
The balance that the universe gives came just in time, my Niece Tina was going into labor. This was Tina's first baby and the first of the next generation Sylas. Shpresa and Tina are very close, thay have been since the first day they met. Tina was 15 when she came here from Yugoslavia. Shpresa although younger took it upon herself that her cousins learn english and get accustom to life here in America. Shpresa the little mothering goddess that she is flourished in this responsible that she easily put upon herself. She was there when Tina Graduated from High School, experienced bad relationships, and when Tina finally found Harry her loving husband. Their wedding and the excitement of there baby. Tina had Ariana Elle Chu at about 8:40pm entering the world just as the first fireworks started to explode, How cool is that? And we're all given a hint that athough we dont always understand tradegy we have the wonder of birth to balance us out and push us on. I'm glad Shpresa was able to witness the full spectrum of life in these few days, In a more balanced way than most of us get.
